sooooo quiet

Hello ALL

You got your fuse, wings and tail built. Tail on on fuse and now you order
an engine, cowling, mount inst. and think this will all come as
scheduled.WELL.
I was to have my engine 2 wks ago. Mech. had to go Ft. Mac on emerg. work
I'm to get it now in another 2wks.Ordered engine mount, cowling and muffler
from MAM 5-6 wks. well OK how can you push it. Well 2wks ago I was told the
mount came in all powder coated ready to go, cowling was also there. Waiting
for muffler. I said to send the cowling and mount. 2wks later I called to
see where my mount and cowling got too. Well they didn't ship it while
waiting for the muffler. Meanwhile what am I doing. Well I'm glad I ordered
this stuff before I ran out of something to do. I am installing inst., ELT
and battery box.

DON'T wait till the last dog is hung to order this stuff or you might just
have to sit and look at it for a while.

Battery box's. Spruce has some for around $$$$$119:00 US. Well in my time of
leisure I called around. Battery World has a box 5"wc x8"Lx9"H. with a
little filler in the box and $22:95 cdn. It works great. Of course you have
to have an Odysey PC 680 to make it fit.To make it fit I cut a piece of .063
6"x10 1/2". This is screwed with 6 #10 self tapers to the bulkhead beside
that little wheel in the centre near the back that the elev. cables run
thru. and the channel in front of it. I also put some sikaflex 1A on the
bottom to help hold it down. Caulked around the front and sides to keep the
dirt out because it sits on top of the rivets. Of course I chromated the
bottom of the doubler and the floor skin under the doubler before
install.Put the bat.solenoid on the side of the bat. box. Haven't run that
really heavy wire yet. Think I'll put it in a condute for protection.

That's all fir-now.

Hi Drew

Yes you are right but I thought is was a good idea and it also gives me a
spot to attach the bat. solenoid.
Good, bad or otherwise, it's just something I did. Oh and you may have
forgotten to mention the weight. That extra pound or so here and there adds
up.

Where are you at with your project Drew?

Good Luck
Murray
