David,
Sounds to me like you are past half done. I am also working on a SR in
Anchorage, AK. I've been at it about 2 years and have around 3200 hours
into it. Don't panic. We (my father and myself) are spending a lot of
extra time on priming parts as I plan to be on floats 75% of the time. We
have also put a lot of time into custom landing lights, pitot tubes, etc.
All the books I read before buying the plane said to double the
manufacturers estimated build hours.
This week we are putting in floors and deburring the front skins and
firewall in preparation of reassembly and engine hanging. Also waiting on
plans from Murphy on the floor installation in rudder pedal rigging. We are
installing a Lycoming O-540 with an 84" 3 blade Hartzell. Hope to fly this
fall.
Let me know how you project progresses.
Chris Gill

Subject: Percentage of completion
Just wanted to get some opinions on this..
I have put just over 700 hours into my Super Rebel project, and
according to murphy the build time is 1400-1800 hours. Assuming 1400
hours, this would put me just over 1/2 way.
I have completed the wing kit and tail kit, to the stage where the parts
are complete and ready for inspection by Transport Canada, they just
need one side of the skin rivetted shut to be 100% complete.
I am at the stage of joining the tailcone to the forward fuselage now..
I know that there is a LOT more work to go.. But I feel like I must be
more than 1/2 way there..
Am I???
Dave
