Rebel Spar Caps

Good morning all.

As per the assembly manual, just pulled a rag soaked in "Tube Seal" through the rudder and elevator spars.

Pretty goopy stuff.

so I figure that when it comes time to chromate the spar ends that accept the spar caps, the added shear bonus of the chromate will be lost because of a less-than-perfect bond between the spar cap barrel, and the end of the spar, due to the oily "Tube Seal."

Any ideas on what to use to clean the "tube seal" just from the ends of the spar so that the chromate will bond to clean dry metal on the spar cap and the the end of the spar itself??

I just waited untill the rudder and elevators were finished then used an eye
dropper to put tube seal into the spar through the hinge bolt hole, put the
bolt in and slosh it around.
