I think a big part of mine surviving is the fact I'm on grass and
never idle
below about 1200 RPM. The other thing is mine is 70"..not 72" for a
different harmonic note and less total arm twisting on that alum
collar
area. Possible that maybe he had higher quality control or thicker
alum
collar area on the earlier stuff as well...who know!
My O-235 was a nice 6.5 to 1, I believe, and the 150Hp O-320 isn't
much
higher..think 7 to 1 but don't have my book in the house.

WOW .... that's impressive !
(I s'pose it must be mainly due to the low compression of those
models
of engine .. yes ?)
Our 0-235 was the 9.7:1 ... HIGH compression model ... PLUS we
fitted
the LSE electronic ignition (bigger BANG again !) .... our Warp
drive
lasted less than 11 hours ! :o(

Yep...so they say Rick...but I've been running a 3 blade x 70" on
the
nose
of mine for 9 years and it's still mint!! (knock on wood!). 5
years on
the
O-235-C x 100 Hp and 4 now on the O-320 x 150 HP. Going to keep
running it
as long as I can.... as I'd have to do some real teeter totter
work on
mine
if I have to put a 40 lb prop up there! (starting with taking the
Gill-25
off the firewall !!)
Cheers,
Wayne

G'day Jerry ...
WHAT engine are you planning to put this Warp Drive prop' on
?!?
(whilst they ARE a good propeller in many ways .... they are NOT
suitable for "direct drive engines" ..... the shock pulse of the
firing
delaminates the root of the blades eventually)
