Hi again everyone,
Another question...this time about the tourque tube. I
have read on ahead through the fuselage manual but
there is too much to try to digest to answer this
question quickly...so I will ask the list!
Question: My torque tube has a little bit of
side-to-side play when looking at the wing head on
from the front. What stops this once the rest of the
control system is installed? I have installed the
bushing and washers as per the diagram in the torque
tube installation section of the chapeter on wing
construction.
Thansk,
-Jason

The side to side movement is the difference between the steel bushing
length and the brass bearing in the torque tube. When I installed the
aileron push tubes I moved the torque tube from side to side and determined
that the tube had clearance through the wing spar. At the same time there
were no clearance problems at the wing root push tube, but there is a small
side to side movement.
