instead of failing catastrophically it simply stretches and continues to
provide some structural integrity. In my water loop, which ended up as a
slide to the right, the bottom left to top right wire stretched a fair
bit but kept it together rather than allowing a collapse which would
have been catastrophic.

I received 7x19 control cable for this with my kit and I have no reason
whatsoever to think it won't work just fine other than it seems odd that
it may not be as strong as the fittings and is a more expensive
material. Perhaps because it is easier to work with?
