Skis on a Rebel

Peter, I used to run a Warp on my 0320 Rebel, and on wheels, had
it pitched to spin 2350 on take-off. Can't remember the exact
degrees, but definitely less that 13, and somewhere around 11 if
I remember correctly.

There is a lot of flex in the Rebel flap cable mechanism, so you
will always get much less in the air.

The lake I was landing on had some spots of overflow,
but not much.

The wheels are about 1" below the skis.

My Rebel with a Subaru and straight ski on packed snow the take off run
is
"short". I have never measured it but it can't be any over 150-200
feet,
even shorter if there is any headwind. I would have to say that either
your
penetration skis are very "draggy" or you are not getting much thrust.
Do
you have plastic on your ski bottoms, if you don't I would highly
recommend
that it be added.

I have a lot of experience flying with wheel penitration skis. You
have to have a groomed field to get off with them but they are fool proof for
landing, I have had to put the plates in many times to get off in soft snow. I
made a drag for behind my snowmobil to groom my home strip in Wyoming.Good Luck!

When we were there this year and found lots of things changed (like not 98%
seasonal occupancy) the young gal at the gate suggested talking to the
superintendent about a flyin gathering. Unfortunately he wasn't around while
we were there and I just assumed with all the changes that someone new must
have come in to take the Provincial Park back from the locals!

Hope I'm not insulting anyone but FWIW in Spring and Fall we almost
always did a touch and immediate go on lakes and then come around to see
if there was any water in the tracks before landing. If water soaked
through the tracks by the time you came around for inspection you sure
didn't dare land...

The other thing was after stopping for a few seconds, move forward a few
feet. Do that a couple of times to cool the skiis which warm up a bit
due to friction and sometimes freeze to the snow. Of course pine boughs
or something under the skiis if possible for overnight stops.

I do have plastic on the bottom of my skis and the tires stick out
about 1"- 11/2"
