[rebel-builders] I've joined the club!

Way to go Kory (and Mrs.)? You will love your Murphy. My amphib Rebel is the nicest, most useful plane I have owned and my wife says I have had more than one man needs! Bob Cressman 331R (C-GRBC)

Congratulations, Kory. Welcome aboard!

I'll offer two truisms... 'cause like a lot of truisms, they're true <g>:

1) it's the journey, not the destination... at least until you're done <g>
and

2) on the way, it's not how many times you fall off the horse that count.

Your nickname will probably help too. :-)

Well, we finally did it! My wife and I are the proud new owners of 678E!
Actually unloaded the crates a few weeks ago, but have been so busy
organizing, inventorying, etc. Haven't had time to post (but I guess
that's a
great excuse!).

Thanks to all who helped in our decision to go with the Elite. I've posted
questions a few times, but have also read a lot of archived posts. Very
helpful!

We decided to buy a used kit. Thanks for all the notes of caution and what
to look for from y'all. So far looking to be a great find. The tail
pieces are a
little over 50% done (have not been drilled to final size and riveted on
one
side), which is nice since I'm able to inspect all of the work done so far
not
only from the outside, but the inside as well. The wings have been
started,
but are in the VERY early stages of that chapter. A few things to be
straightened or replaced after the stint in storage and the long trip from
Manitoba (we live in Arizona), but not too bad.

Bob, I want to thank you personally for all the advice and help on deciding
to
build a Murphy aircraft. Would have liked to have thrown some business
your
way and buy a new kit, but this just made more sense for us.

I had posted before with my questions on shipping across the border.
Turned
out to be pretty easy. If anybody needs large things truck-shipped across
the US and Canada, I'd highly recommend taking a look at YRC (a merger of
Roadway and Yellow truck). They have offices all over both countries, and
if
you're a private party that doesn't have a customs broker, their logistics
division will take care of filing papers with customs for a reasonable fee.

I'm a professional pilot and it's been a life-long dream for me to build my
own
plane. Can't wait to get started! My wife is very excited, too. She
helped
me pick out our new air compressor last weekend!

We look forward to getting to know everybody as we progress on our project!
