The manual shows the flaperon torque tubes in the wings with a thick
sleeve around the end plugs. Rivets go thru the CC100 sleeve and into
the end plug which in turn holds the control horn. The manual does not
say to put a CC100 style (1" wide, 1/8" thick) sleeve on the end plugs
for the torque tubes/control horns inside the cabin. Wray's site shows
a photo that agrees (http://www.iprimus.ca/~cobbg/cntrl3.jpg). Why
would I need the sleeve on one portion of the torque tubes, but not on
the other? Also, could someone explain why the manual calls out one (1)
1" wide sleeve and another 1/2" spacer sleeve of the same material? Why
not just make a single sleeve 1 1/2" wide?

Scott, the sleeves ARE to keep the torque tube from moving sideways in the
delrin bearings (gives a surface to run against the bearings) that are
located in the wings. WE use to cut the sleeves, to match the distance
needed, but people had a hard time cutting the raw material square so MAM
started supplying the precut sleeves. The tubes in the cabin do not need
sleeves as they get bolted to the ones coming out of the wing roots, so they
will not be able to move sideways either!

CC100 sleeve INSIDE the cockpit? Rebel Question
BTW Scott you have my old home page address. that one hasn't been updated in almost a
year ...surprised it's still available. I may be moving again as I'm trying to get a
high speed service hook up. The new one most likely will be http://wrayt.tripod.ca/ where
you'll have to put up with a small add box. I just usually hit the underscore to put it
away and ignore it. Currently still at this one http://webhome.idirect.com/~wrayt/
