Claymar (Bilmar) Amphibs

Post by snowyrvr@mtaonline.net » Sun Feb 19, 2012 4:55 pm

Any experiences regarding the Claymar amphib floats on a rebel? I see that
they are heavier than the Murphy floats. On Murphy's site they state a net
gain of 225 lbs for theirs. I'm assuming that's the floats less the weight
of the landing gear that'd be removed, although it doesn't say that.

The Claymars I saw weigh 425 and not knowing what the weight is that I'd be
removing to install them, I'm not sure what the net gain in weight would
be. Maybe not my first choice but at least a choice with the Murphy floats
availibility questionable. I did see the Claymar 2200's on several Elites
so they may just be too big for the rebel.
