[rebel-builders] Angled oil filter adapter

If I remember right...weren't people using the 1.5" spacer?

I have the new angled oil filter adapter on my new 360 engine. I am not
sure
if it will fit with the dynafocal mount though. What have others used? Did
you have to get an extension for your adapter to move it out a bit to fit
around the mount?

Drew, I vaguely recall that you had one of these with your new engine? Did
it fit OK?

Several O-360/Elite installations popped up in the search... they used a
1.4" spacer.

This is an ECI adapter (on an XP engine) and the spacers come in .75, 1.4
and 2.5 inch sizes. If I do need one, I think the .75 might do it. If it is
too far out, then there may be interference with the firewall.

Post by Walter Klatt » Sun Feb 19, 2012 4:10 pm

Yes, I looked at some that used the B&C adapter, but not sure if they are
different than my ECI one. I think Drew has the identical one to mine. And I
can see that the conical mount would be no problem. The dynafocal mount has
that extra angled arm on the left side that comes between the filter and the
engine.

[rebel-builders] Angled oil filter adapter

Post by Eric Fogelin » Sun Feb 19, 2012 4:10 pm

I am using the B&C angled oil adapter on the Murphy dynafocal mount and a
Superior XP O-360. The 1.4" spacer was required to clear the extra angled
arm mentioned by Walter below.

Oil filter nicely clears the mount, firewall and cowling.

Post by WALTER KLATT » Sun Feb 19, 2012 4:10 pm

The ECI oil filter adapter that I have will work for the 235 engine, but only if you don't need to add an extension spacer. Apparently the oil supply works differently with that engine. This is documented in the instructions I posted earlier. Don't know about the B&C one. You may want to check with an engine builder before ordering one.
