I first heard about this wheel well side panel problem this summer when some
of you reported leaks and crinkles. I looked at mine but couldn't see any
problem.
Is this something new, or has it been seen before? Are all the 1800 amphib
skins the same thickness at that point, or did this change? I remember the
discussion about doublers. And has a preventative fix been developed that
doesn't involve taking things apart?

Doublers at the bottom of the bulkheads and all the false bulkheads just
ahead of the step. Also some extra stringers or heavier material for the
main wheelwell side panels. Other than that I think they've proven to be
pretty stout floats.
