Brian, lets just say that Bob and myself came to a mutually agreeable
arrangement! Bob now owns C-FXWI and my wife now owns C-FOKM on Amphibious
Floats.
Have you and Bob done a drag race takeoff yet to see who is going to blow
that BFC Super Cub away the best next time??
Bob never really liked these compression spring struts of mine, but he has
already commented that it is the best riding Rebel he has taxied around and
is quickly changing his mind about the struts!
I have already started the refurbishment on C-FOKM starting with the floats
and I'll be working my way up from there. 2 piece swing arms, drilled axles
for greasing wheels bearings, pump out cups & plugs, etc. The aircraft will
have the O-235-C2C (108/115 H.P) removed and I will be installing an
O-320-A2A (150 H.P.) or an O-320-B2A (160 H.P). Also redoing the instrument
panel from scratch and numerous other refinements. I have the plane listed
for sale on our web site, but the more I work on it the more I may just keep
it and have my own float plane!! If anyone is looking for an O-235-C2C this
engine has never had an overhaul and has 1200 since new (1969). Runs great
as is, or would probably be an excellent core for overhaul.
AS for the Sensenich Propellor, I have not been able to duplicate it's
performance on C-FXWI, with my Warp Drive on my (C-GDJK) Rebel at similar
weights. Pretty close, but not quite as good! Both aircraft are 150 H.P.
(could be a slight difference in them possibly, but nothing significant).
That model of Sensenich (74DM7S8-0-56) has a very nice wide chord to bite
the air, right out to the tips, and I think that is the secret. The weight
also makes the engine run smoother etc. The weight is also it's drawback for
the Rebel however, at 40 Pounds! This is about 31 pounds more than a Warp
Drive, right where you don't really need it on a Rebel! All this said, I
think I will probably still put a metal prop on C-FOKM when I get it all
upgraded and not use a W.D. Howard Hanford just loves the performance of his
150 H.P.'d Amphib Rebel with the Sensenich Propellor and says he wouldn't
trade it for anything else!

Bob is MAM's best repeat customer I bet. The airplane looks great & I'm
sure he will like the setup of speed cowl, your bungee fix, 0320 etc. & the
Sensenich prop. What do you think of that prop vs. the Warp drive by the
way.
