Hi Craig,
So far I have completed the tail feathers and am starting on the wings. I have used:
300 Silver
300 Copper
25 Gold
and have not run out yet. I expect to have to stock up on more when I build a wing.
Best Wishes,
Rich

Anyone know which clecos we'll use the most of at any one time building our
rebel? And what's a good number to have on hand for each size? Please
don't say "you can't have enough"!! Thanks Craig

[rebel-builders] Cleco Question
Hi Mike !
Interesting question !!!
Apparently, the Cleco trademark is over 113 years old !!
It belongs to Cooper Tools, of Houston, TX ... Seems like the
original manufacturer might have been a spin-off company
from the Central Louisiana Electric Company !!!!
I think you are right - it's a former brand name that has
become part of the language ! Anybody got more info ???

I agree with the 300-400 number for #40 and #30. You need a lot less #10.
I only have a small bag of those, probably less than 50. I have a small
bag of #20 as well for those #30 holes you are going to mess up. I also
have a handful of long clecoes which are needed here and there. A half
dozen or so of the high tension wingnut clecoes (PWN Series) would have
been nice when I was doing the wing spars but I managed without them. I
like this website
(http://www.panamericantool.com/family.c ... 0FASTENERS) for
seeing all the different kinds of clecoes. Regular clecoes are only $0.35
each so the prices aren't out of line there either.
Mike
P.S. I wonder if Cleco was once a brand name and is now used to describe
the fastener no matter who makes it. Like "Kleenex".
