[rebel-builders] Bad FUS-409 and FUS-411 parts

Post by Wayne G. O'Shea » Sun Feb 19, 2012 12:04 pm

Thanks for the heads up Eric. A few places that this problem has "reared
it's head" including float rigging kits that have been shipped with the
BB-128's instead of the smaller pulleys. PITA when you realize this after
you have made all the brackets for the rear strut and spreader bar.

Subject: [rebel-builders] Bad FUS-409 and FUS-411 parts

I just resolved a problem with Steve Cooper at Murphy concerning the
elevator pulley brackets that are located in the tail of the Elite. The
pulleys provided (BB-128s) were correct 2" diameter pulleys, but both the
FUS-409 and FUS-411 brackets seemed to be for 1.5" pulleys.

Parts did not align correctly and/or there were interference problems. I
uploaded photos of the bad parts in the Elite Control section.

My kit is Elite 645 and was packaged in early 1999. I do not know if the
Rebel or Moose use the same brackets, but other kits shipped from the
factory around this date might be worth checking.

Steve resolved the problem quickly with new brackets.

Eric

[rebel-builders] Bad FUS-409 and FUS-411 parts

Post by Robert Johnson » Sun Feb 19, 2012 12:04 pm

I ran into a similar problem with Rebel 192/731 which is a 1994 vintage kit
for the most part, there just wasn't any brackets. A bit of .032 material +
1/2 hr and new brackets in hand. A lot less time then even the phone call to
Murphy. Isn't this home building great. Bob J
