Bob, I think you should investigate the idea of installing the outboard
bearing. Some SR's have had cracks in the rear spar at the tip because
of vibrations. The aileron weight will put a lot or stress on the
outboard hinge and that causes the problem. When the outer end of the
aileron is supported by an additional bearing, which mounts in the
fiberglass wing tip, that stress is reduced at the spar.

Maybe Nancy can jump in here and add some insight!!
Otherwise contact the factory and order the support kit. It will be a
lot easier to "Beef" it up now than later when it's painted and flying

I think that bearing was an optional support that someone came up with.
I
don't think there's a service bulletin on it. You might check Scott
Aldrich's site at www.goflyamoose.com and look under completions to see
if
there are any pictures of this modification.

I had seen on the Murphy site (before it was changed) a bearing support
added on the wing tip rib to support the outboard end of the aileron
spade:
Can anyone advise if this is necessary or was this before the wing tip
hinge
