drains and gascolotor all in one)...but unfortunately the Rebel and Elite's
floors are only 2" deep.

Subject: [rebel-builders] fuel drain
FWIW: While my aircraft is a SR and not a Rebel so can't say if this will
work - what I did was bring my fuel lines down cabin side bulkheads, under
the floor to a center point (actually a bit left of center to clear the
elevator controls). There they "T" into a single point, into an "Andair"
gascolator attached to a floor carry-through bulkhead. From the
gascolator, fuel flows forward (still under the floor - in aluminum
tubing - through bulkheads with rubber grommets for cushion) through a
firewall fitting (backside of this fitting is accessible through rudder
cable attach inspection plate in belly), into engine compartment. The
gascolator is accessible from above for servicing, through a large
inspection plate in the floor. An inspection door in the belly (just like
my oil dip-stick door on the cowl) clicks open to allow draining the
gascolator's quick-drain. This is the lowest point in the fuel system,
easy to access for daily draining and the inside (floor) inspec!
ti
on plate makes for easy periodic
servicing, when required. Also have tank quick-drains in the wings.
Pretty easy and simple system with no problems that I have found. I have
wiring for an electric fuel pump in vicinity of gascolator, but have not
found need to install one as yet. Gravity feed and engine fuel pump has
been OK.
