Guys,
Looking through the list archives, a few years back
there was a debate about location of the static port.
I am NOT going to use the static port in my pitot
tube; instead I plan to install two machined ports I
purchased from Aircraft Spruce.
It looks like the conclusion at the time was to place
them just forward of the door post on the side skins
on both sides. I have also seen them installed on both
sides of the tail cones on other aircraft. Obviously
forward of the door post makes most sense for short
hose runs and ease of hook-up.
I was wondering if any of you out there who are flying
your completed SR or Moose had any comments a few
years on from the last time we discussed this?
I plan to 'cut metal' to mount mine this weekend so
any comments would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks, -Jason
