Well, Murphy is at it again. I have spent a ton of money on hardware that I
need that were either the wrong size or not provided with the kit. I have
not complained or said a thing. I am now. I am completely out of rod ends
and am short four. I asked for those four and Nancy was going to send them
to me. Apparently, Darryl heard that he might be out a few bucks and
stepped in. I am so tired of fighting Murphy for a part. Murphy's ship
list and mine are apparently not the same. My copy shows that they only
sent 2 HM4M rod ends. They did send more than that but not enough. I don't
have any HM5M rod ends. Their documentation does not match mine and neither
matches what I really got. They also shorted me 32 RR-5606 rivets but I'm
not even going to fight that battle. I am close to finished with my plane.
I am also finished with Murphy. I tried very hard to not be a Murphy
basher. But this is the last straw. My next plane was going to be a
Renegade. Now it will probably be a Starduster II. I read in the now
famous article about Darryl how he doesn't like the builders that want to
get parts free for changes they make after design reviews. I basically
agree with him on that. If it's a design improvement and not a design fix,
then builders should pay if they want it. But they shouldn't have to pay
for missing parts. If there is a discrepancy or mixup, why not give the
benefit of the doubt to the builder. Despite what Darryl apparently thinks,
we're not all out to screw him out of as much free stuff as possible.

Subject: rod ends
Hi Mike
When we first started to send out SR2500 kits, for the aileron push pull
tubes we used CC-30 end plugs and HM5M rod ends. I looked at your shiplist
and see that you were sent 6 of the CC-30 and 6 of the HM5M rod ends. Two
are for the elevator push pull tube and the other 4 of each are for the
aileron push pull tubes. The confusion for you is probably you have an
updated manual which shows to use the HM4M rod ends which we now use for the
aileron tubes. Go ahead and use the HM5M rod end as they are not going to
be used anywhere else.
Have a good day
Darryl
