All you absolutely need Terry is the differential volume between gear up and
gear down. Probably not much more than a pint.

BUT.... :O) .... consider you blow a line while pumping gear up and you give
it two or four strokes before you realize this. So by now 1/2 a quart is
gone. IF you select gear down at this point you would have enough fluid left
in the MAM reservoir to get the gear back down and locked.... to land back
at the home strip and fix your plumbing. With your mini reservoir that you
are contemplating you'll be looking for some grass to slide on...... since
the gear will be mid range and nothing you can do with it!

that will bolt to the aft end of an extended length float pump base.
Looking from the top, it will have a racetrack shape similar to the
shape of a pint can of solvent. The MAM plastic windshield washer
reservoir looked a bit large to me.

My question is: what is the optimum (smallest) capacity for this amphib
float landing gear reservoir unit. A pint? A quart? Or?

If anyone that has done this, do you have parts numbers for the quick
disconnect fittings, threaded inserts etc.

Suggestions? Comments?

I wouldn't want it too small though, in case you get caught way out in the boonies somewhere with a leak. That little extra can get you home again. Bruce G. can testify to this as well.
