On a related theme, I seem to recall that the slot that you will cut in the
lower wing skin for the control horn doesn't need to be near as big as the
manual suggests. Think mine extend about an inch less far to the rear which
makes it a little easier to add the doubler.

Another note on this - don't make the control tube that connects the aileron
to the horn as shown in the manual. I made mine like the manual showed and
it was far too long. I called the factory and they said measure it and make
it whatever length fits.
