I'll throw this question out for any of you that have experience with
composites...
How difficult would it be to make a composite tailwheel spring for the Rebel
by laying up glass or kevlar cloth & resin?

I wonder if one could be made from laminating multiple layers of aircraft ply
and carbon fiber cloth?

I don't know guys I hate working with glass so don't ask me! What I do know
is that Bob P loves the fiberglass tail spring and I hate them. Other than
that we get alone just fine !! LOL

Composite tailwheel spring
Ya know the EZs use laid up glass gear legs. I'm not so sure there are
advantages for the Rebel tail spring as it is small, and a simple shape. I
would think if any customization were needed at all, that far less
experimentation and fabrication time would be required to make one out of
steel, such as 4130, and get it heat treated. Or another option is spring
aluminum, I believe 7050. I've experimented with both of these as gear legs
on my ultralight (treated 4130 tube and solid tapered 7050) with success. And
while we're at it, titanium might be even better, but I don't know anything
about it other than use on RV mains.

wheel. It is the 3rd one down in this link.

I had to drill a second hole for the MAM wheel, and I think
change the side shims a bit. But the angle was good, and seemed
to work fine for me.

I just had a look - at the link Walter supplied ... & the #3 looks to be the right shape, length and thickness !
If you go with the #3 spring on the list that Walter just sent you - let me know ... 'cause I'll get one too - (mine's a bit "light") ... and we can go halves on the shipping cost !
