Ramble '05 - scrubbed !

Post by Wayne G. O'Shea » Sat Feb 18, 2012 10:47 am

Wish that rain had of come futher North Bob! You should have just motored
North as fast as you could instead. Nothing happening except sunshine up
there!

Two partial days of rain in over a month (and I'm counting last nights
little shower)!! It's a tinder box everywhere North of Lake Nippissing. The
daily temps where 36/38C for 2 weeks straight. Thank god I brought an air
conditioner up for the window or Leah'd be history by now! Water is so warm
the fish are hidding...80*F surface temp on Lake Temagami is pretty much
unheard of !!!

Total fire ban all the way past Hearst with over 80 new fires around Timmins
last Thursday alone. Generally a dozen new ones a day right now.

I'm home for one day to clear up some Government BS and back up. Gotta love
1hr - 28 min dock to field in the air (came home at 98KNOTS)......vs 4hr- 10
minutes on the road + a boat ride to the Island...and that's as long as the
hwy's not closed for an entire day. 69 closed twice this weekend and at
least once last weekend.

Cheers,
Wayne

Subject: Ramble '05 - scrubbed !

Hi Ramblers !

Well, we got rained out !! The few hardy souls who camped
at Gore Bay beat a hasty retreat home on Saturday morning,
only getting a 'little bit' wet ! One day wouldn't have hurt much,
but the forecast and radar images were pretty scarey, and it
looked like 3 or 4 days of possibly severe storms, so ......

We're just doomed to never get to Killarney for Fish 'n Chips !
Every time we plan for there, something happens !! :-(

I guess that's it for this year, but we'll have another look on
Monday or Tuesday - maybe we can get up to North Bay, or so,
and still get back to head down to Oshkosh. Will keep you posted !

Really sorry we can't get up to Kap to visit Peter and Hazel !
We'll keep trying !

Tentative plans for next year are a big Ramble to the West Coast
again, to bring back a bunch of Rebels for a Northern Fly-in here
at Wayne's place in Temiskaming, then down to OSH .....
Anybody here interested ?? How about some Quebecers ??
Any 'Down-Easters' ??
.....bobp & Anna
