LR Tanks

I recently posted an inquiry regarding the Elite and its capacity to carry
passengers and cargo. One of the responses I received stated I should refrain
from building the LR fuel tanks. Why?

Straightforward reasoning associates these with a higher output engine to
produce a ratio that may result in a slight increase in the range of the
aircraft byond that of the standard tanks. I have not performed the
quantitative analysis to determine what the resultant range would be with the
180 hp engine choices.

LR fuel tanks when filled will lower your useful load. From what I read, you want to carry quite some cargo.... wife, child and dogs.

I just finished building a Rebel with LR tanks.... when tanks are full, we are carrying well over 300 pounds of fuel. Lowering our usefull load.... witch in our case is not an issue.
