My engine (1 hr TTSN) has now been received and examined by Aerosport Power.
It appears that the vacuum pump drive bearing siezed, taking out the keyway
on the crank and a tooth off the camshaft drive gear. A lot of damage for
something I wasn't even using. Anyway, they indicate they will replace
everything - camshaft, crankshaft, etc. - with new parts, and hope to have
the box on its way back by the end of this week. I told them to give it a
real good run on the test stand.
With a bit of luck, I'll have it back in the airplane before we head for OSH
(not in 'GAH!).
