There may be light at the tunnel end. At Sun & Fun in April I spoke
with Stephane about the manual and other documentation as well as parts
issues we had with our Elite. He was building a Rebel "by the book" and
understood the difficulties.
Sue and I were out at MAM last July and had an in depth conversation
with Darryl on documentation as it exists from the first time builders
point of view. He made copious notes and seemed attentive. We listed a
number of the Elite manual specifics by way of illustration. Darryl
commented that the Moose manual ws being worked on at that time to
improve it.
This week I spoke with Stephane regarding MAM interest in the new US
Light Sport Aircraft rule and what they might offer especially with
regard to a fast build Rebel with Rotax 912S power. Stephane told me
that MAM might consider a Rebel fast build in perhaps two years but
first they were going to improve the manuals as well as other internal
issues. My sense was that they are working to correct the internal
difficiencies that we see from the outside as customers.
Call me too optomistic if you wish, but based on my conversations with
Stephane and Darryl we may begin to see the big MAM ship turn in the
proper direction shortly. If I am correct that can only mean a stronger
company over time to support an excellent line of aircraft. It will not
happen quickly but I for one am glad for the hint of positive change.
