I installed my under the plug senders from Westach and noticed that
Westach states on their Install instruction that the "spark plug gasket
is usually removed". Have those of you that have these sending units
installed without the gaskets? The sending unit is much thinner than
the gasket and will allow the plug to protrude into the cylinder.
Any thoughts?
Thanks,
Clay

I run them on my 2 stroke Cuyuna in my Quick Silver without the gaskets with
no problems.

Hi Clay: I installed four of these on my O320 this way with no problems at
all. I do find they read a little high when under the bottom plugs (450 -500
on climb out on a hot day) but have not been concerned after the info
obtained on this site and realizing they are right beside exhaust outlets as
well. In excess of 185 hours flight time and going strong. Bob Johnson Rebel

I put the ring probe on the plug and then a washer. Doing otherwise I found
the wire to ring connection gets mangled too easily when you go to remove a
plug.
Cheers,
Wayne
