saw a guy at Oshkosh trying to sell a program that essentially used
Corel Paint/Draw with various (no Moose) plane diagrams so one could
experiment on a computer (rather than using crayons or pencils). Good
idea if one had the time to create a template in a paint program...
Any idea where you might have seen the other Moose diagrams besided
Murphy's site?
Thank you,
Ted

Hi Ted !
Figured you were about to paint yours - usual cautions apply -
Don't try to do it yourself unless you have a GOOD source of clean,
filtered air into a hood. The cyanide in polyurethanes will kill you
quickly, and, if you get by that, the epoxy molecules will glue your
lungs solid ! I just decided I didn't want to risk my health OR the
quality of the paint job - so got an expert to do it ...
(Know a good painter in northern Florida .., and a great painter and
upholsterer in Ohio ...)
For layouts, there are 3-views of the Moose available, i
believe, from Murphy. I used lots of these of the Rebel, and coloured
pencils, before scanning one & using a 'paint' program ....
You might want to prowl the web for Beaver paint schemes ....
Happy to help ! Good luck !!!

Thanks Ted !
No - I designed this scheme years ago, and had my last Rebel
Cubsthis way. Made a few changes and had this one done by John Goris at
Purple Hill Air, near London. he has a great team there, and a good
paint shop. The paint is R-M "UNO - HD", a professional automotive
epoxy polyurethane enamel, that really has high gloss and great
durability - about $200 - $250 CDN/gallon. Yellow is NAV 4429, red is
#8154A. Sure don't have to wax it !
I figure old Bill Piper was pretty smart when he painted the
yellow - just enough colour to melt off the ice & snow, but not dark
enough to get too hot in the summer ! I threw in the red for contrast
aand increased visibility....

Hi Wayne !
Actually, there are letters under the wing - but I can buzz by in
a steep bank so they can't read them !!! ;-) :-)
Wait 'til I get the amphibs on ..... ;-)
I designed that paint job, and I like it, soooooo - there may be
couple more like it before I'm done ! I saw a Moose with something
close .....
