countersinking

Post by capete » Sat Feb 18, 2012 9:23 am

We need to remove round head rivets and install countersunk rivets at the
tip of our leading edge skin on our Moose wing to install ports for our
Angle of Attack unit.

Instead of removing the rivets from the stringer and countersinking
stringer
and dimpling skin, we thought we could countersink the 0.032" skin only.
What is the minimum advisable thickness to countersink? Does a solid
rivet
work better when countersinking skin or will avex work fine?

Any thoughts/comments???

Thanks,
