Builders visit this Sunday

Post by Bob Patterson » Sat Feb 18, 2012 9:19 am

"Greetings from Tally-ho field.

There hasn't been much activity on the e-mail list lately so I wanted to
touch base. (I just re-registered)

If you're planning to attend on Sunday at 12 noon - could you please let me
no so that I can make sure I have enough hamburgers etc.

The weather looks good so far and you can bring your suit if you can stand
cold water - it will be filled tomorrow.

THANKS JIM/CINDY!

Best $100 hamburg I've had in years (well at least since last year at your
place!). Then again... this year at 3 GPH in the J3C-65 it only cost me
about $25!! :o))

Cheers,
Wayne

Builders visit this Sunday

Post by Wayne G. O'Shea » Sat Feb 18, 2012 9:19 am

80MPH!! I wish.

I got to chance to view a lot of objects on the ground that I never notice
before on my way home (and I have traveled the same route MANY times in the
last 15 years!).

I was showing 75 MPH but figure from the time that it took I was doing about
35 to 40 MPH ground speed max.

Good to see you again Drew and everyone else that attended..... to see that
we need to kick Jim's ass some more and get him in gear on his Moose!

Builders visit this Sunday

Post by Jim Cole » Sat Feb 18, 2012 9:19 am

Consider my ass kicked!

I'll post a few pictures in the next couple of days - Wayne I've never seen
a J3 go up like a helicopter before????
Are you sure you only have 65 horses or was the wind that strong above the
tree line?

Pretty amazing for 65HP isn't it (and the wind sure helped the 36" wing!)!
When I turned North, while crossing your West fence, I was going through
550' AGL ! :o))

Robert and Olga Johnson

Builders visit this Sunday

Post by Robert and Olga Johnson » Sat Feb 18, 2012 9:19 am

Hi guys; Sorry it took so long to respond, but we have had a lot of problems
with the computer and ended up purchasing a new system. No body could seem
to find the crashing or freeze up problem. No Bob P it is not a Windoz
problem. Thanks Jim and Cindy for a great day last Sunday.(June 20) Olga and
I had a an interesting flight home with the gusting wind and cumulus clouds.
When we had just past the Burlington Skyway, Niagara bound, a severe wind
shear flipped the Rebel 90 degrees (left wing down) so quick ,Olga bounced
off her door, and I bounced off her. (Shoulder that is) All I heard was her
scream of terror. I was surprized also but knew we had 2000 ft to recover.
Needless to say she was not impressed, It was a relativly quiet ride the
rest of the way home. Now Olga knows those pretty white puffy clouds are
just waiting to bite you in the a--(butt). Thanks again Jim, hope to see
more progress on the Moose in the future. Bob J. Rebel 652 (still flying
when weather permits)
