I am looking at the installation of my MA-4 curburettor on an O-360, and
it's going to result in some fairly tight bends in the control cables,
Is there any reason I shouldn't rotate it 90*, so the cables come off
the left side of the carb., rather than off the rear?

Al, talk to Ken BEANLAND who runs a Christavia web page or search his name.
He ran into the same problem with a Franklin he was putting in his project.
I believe he got some advise out of the states without "fear of liability"
and I thing there was no problem.
