Close Tolerance Bolts - NAS Bolts

Post by Jims170A » Sat Feb 18, 2012 9:09 am

I have a lot of NAS 6600 series bolts; these are considered close tolerance
bolts with high tensile strength of 160,000 PSI. I checked these against stock
AN hardware and only found a .002 split in the diameter. The NAS bolts were
the fattest, the AN hardware that came with the Rebel kit was the smallest
diameter. My other new AN hardware was more or less in the middle range. I'm not
sure you would gain enough to make it worth buying the close tolerance bolts.

I have switched to using NAS hardware on the Rebel after I twisted off a 3/16
bolt (kit hardware) while working on the main spar. I have a lot of extra NAS
bolts if anyone needs any I will sell them cheap to list members. Email me
off the list with your needs.
