"Avex rivet..."

Post by Jean Poirier » Fri Feb 17, 2012 11:54 pm

Hello Everybody!

I have finally received my rebel kit last wenesday! Hard to beleive theres an airplane in that "little" box.... They have my order since last april and I still have b/o! THE QUESTION: Mam always say we should just use the Avex rivet that come from them to be sure on quality and every things..... There is no indication on the full boxs of rivets I received that they come from Avex. They come from a fasterner company in Alberta (if I remember, I do not have the name with me). Please let me know...

Hi Jean !

The company is likely "Mattic" - they are distributors for
Avex. If the rivets came from Murphy with the kit, you're OK !!
You will also need the Polyfiber Epoxy Primer to dip them in
when inserting, Metal-Sol or acetone for cleanup, and Polyfiber
Tube Seal for protecting the inside of the elevator spar tubes.
These can all be ordered from Murphy, if you didn't already get
them. (They have to ship as separate order, because of "HAZMAT"
designation ! :-( )

Welcome to the group Jean!

With your new kit you should be receiving genuine Avex (an Avdel Textron brand name, www.avdeltextron.ca) rivets. The distribution is via various sources, ours came via Mattic in BC, you can check this out the distributors on their web page to confirm.

Our kit (Elite 583) came with rivets from Rivets Unlimited and these were the ones MAM phased out, they replaced half of ours.

Well, time to get started, enjoy!
