pro-sealing

To David Ricker -

Thank you very much for the tip on the empty caulking tubes from CR
Laurence. Made the last pro-sealing job a lot easier.

----------------snip
We mix batches of about 200 grams and use a caulking tube dispenser to apply
it.
The empty tubes are about $1.25CDN each (catalog # 103FL, C. R. Laurence,
crlaurence.com) and are the type that household caulking comes in. Makes
the job
really slick, no messy, stringy putty knives to handle & clean. Puts a nice
bead in
the corners too. After the job, toss your clecos in a jar of acetone and
wire brush
them later when you have time and use them for the next tank

pro-sealing

That's why I bought a black digital camera. Looks kind of Camoflauged though
now, with the green chromate stripes blended well with the limestone
sikaflex botches amongst the dark grey proseal smears! :o)

Also learned you don't try to clean the camera off with Acetone. It seems to
bond the plastic power button to the plastic case quite well !

Hi Peter

Glad it helped, we just finished our second tank and have plenty of tubes
left
over to do the top skins after we get the "bathtub" inspected.

I'll have to put a few pictures on our web site to show what they look
like. I
have stayed away from the sealing job with the digital camera though, the
goop
seems to find it's way onto just about everything if you aren't careful!

Cheers,

Dave
