Good to hear that helped. But I still say you will have
to open the bottom more again once you are floats, if
you are still seeing 400 on wheels.

Whether you like it or not, pretty soon you will have
it looking like mine... :>)

Lycoming installs I'm aware of have some
kind of high CHT problems.

Lycoming recommends keeping CHT's below 400*
F at 75% or less and at 435* F
or less at continues max power. this still
seems hot to me but I know some guys
that run with CHT's this high and don't seem
to have any ill effects. And
Lycoming says it's OK. Soooooo?

I hear you Walter and your probably right. I don't have a problem creating a
bigger exit but with the set up I have, I already have a large exit cut out
from the fiberglass and closed up again with an aluminum cowl flap.

When I determine where I want to fix the flap permanent I will do that after
experimenting with the Floats on. I was going to make it a real adjustable
cowl flap but decided It was better to save the 5 lb. of cable, as I don't think
it needs to be that sophisticated.

When I saw the front baffle on some RV's I thought about how much sense it
was to put that in. Could you post some pictures of your front baffle
installation? I am already installing a front baffle on my O-320 Rebel.
