Float Plane fuel in BC

Post by Mike Kimball » Fri Feb 17, 2012 11:28 pm

A friend is preparing to fly his C-185 on straight floats to Washington from
Fairbanks, AK. I may be going with him just for the fun of it. I'm
wondering if anyone can provide us with info on fuel availability in B.C.?

Float Plane fuel in BC

Mike,
The places that I have purchased fuel are Port McNeil, Campbell River,
Nanaimo, Tofinio, and Pat Bay all on Vancouver Island these are all float
plane docks. The Canadian Floatplane Supplement has the particulars for how
to approach and where the docks are. The Supplement has lots more but I've
not been there.

Float Plane fuel in BC

Yes, the Canada Water Aerodrome Supplement lists and
describes all floatplane facilities in Canada. Also,
you will want the Vancouver VFR Navigation Chart to
find them.
