VANCOUVER (CKNW/AM980) -- The male pilot of a floatplane managed to escape
injury this morning as his aircraft crashed into the Shuswap Lake.

Salmon Arm RCMP says he was doing "touch and goes" on the lake when his
homemade Mercury Rebel craft went down.

The plane flipped as it hit the water and is apparently completely destroyed.

NAV Canada is investigating.
