Measurements on rudder and stabilizer tubes

Post by Keith Leitch » Fri Feb 17, 2012 10:58 pm

Could anyone tell me if the measurements on Chapter 5 figure 5.2.3 are
measured with the horn and end cap installed or just the end cap or from the
end of the tube? When measuring only the tube the end rivet hole is 1/16
from the end.
I did the rudder tube without the end cap, I hope I didn't screw it up so as
not to be able to use it.

Thanks,
Keith R661

Measurements on rudder and stabilizer tubes

Keith,

Since no one else jumped in here, I'll give you my interpretation. My manual
(#687R), and the manual on CD, specifically state "Chap 5.2 para 6) Drill a
#30 hole at these marked locations. Measurement with horn on". The associated
drawings in my manuals also show that to be the case. Perhaps you'd want to
check with Brian at MAM for a work-around if you think you may have erred (you
wouldn't be the first!).

Roger,
Thank you, My manual only states to drill holes at these locations. It does
not show the horn installed. Thanks again.
Keith
