Rudder Cap?

Post by Mike Kimball » Fri Feb 17, 2012 10:49 pm

What has everyone been doing to cap the rudder and elevator? There's a
bunch of holes to let rain in if you don't. The fin and horizontal stab
were provided with fiberglass caps. I guess rain that gets in the rudder
will just run out the bottom and maybe any rain getting in the elevator will
find it's way out but maybe it would be better to keep it from getting in as
much as possible in the first place. Of course there's the danger of
sealing everything up and the rain still gets in and then can't get out.

Speaking of rain getting in, I was planning on just running a generous bead
of silicone under the windshield retainer on either side of the rubber edge
protector on the windshield and then screwing the retainer down. Sound OK?
