Just wondering what people are using for torque values
on their Sensenich 2 blade metal props with the 3/8
prop bolts. On their web site it recommends 23 - 25
foot pounds. I was using more than that with my Warp
Drive at 30 foot pounds so just wanted to see what
others were doing.

Prop bolt torque?

Prop bolt torque?
Sounds right, 30's way toooo much on a 3/8 fine thread bolt! Around
210in-lbs is usually spelled out as a maximum on a 3/8 NUT, which is only 18
ft-lbs. The extra 5 to 7ft-lbs they recommend is to make up for the friction
of the bolt shank on the prop holes I would imagine. I use about 25 ft-lbs
on 3/8 bolts and 40 to 42 ft-lbs on 7/16 ones (haven't lost a prop or ever
had a bolt loosen YET!).

OK, thanks. I remember talking to the Warp Drive guy a
long time ago about that. He wanted the smaller 1/4
inch ones torqued to 120 inch pounds, which too, was a
way more than normal. His reasoning was that the AN
bolts could handle that much, and it was better too
tight than too loose. So that's what I did.

Prop bolt torque?
FWIW, I ended up with a cracked Warped drive prop hub on my Kolb, I believe
from going over the recommended torque numbers just a snitch. This can lead to
real trouble and I was lucky to find it. Warp warranty replaced the hub even
tho I told them it was probably my fault. A picture at
