Mike - Pertaining to our conversation about the Walter turbine powered
SR3500 -
On the AeroComp 7 the the glass laid up wings are relatively heavy by the
time the builder finishes and the need the Hp to get off the ground -
The engine that I was trying to remember is the Orenda - a big block V-8 w/
twin turbos -
You mentioned that the SR has 140 gallon tanks - It will need them!
The website for the AeroCommander retrofits
http://www.mrrpm.com
Outlines the relevant data that in this case reduces to -

140 gallons of Jet A 94 gallons of Mo Gas (about)
@6.7 lb/gal =938 lbs @ 6 lb/gal = 564 lbs
difference - 374 lbs

@.62 lbs/HpHr, 200 hp @.42 lbs/HpHr, 200 hp

Also interesting is the maintenance implications -
Also interesting to look at our "Big Brother" using the Orenda -
