What are the holes in fus 31 for

Post by Murray & Carol » Fri Feb 17, 2012 9:38 pm

Hi from Calgary:

Read ahead, way ahead. All has gone great and now for the tailspring. As
soon as you look at it you get that sinking feeling.Did I miss something.Yes
you have to do it, But how.You can't install that 3/8" tailspring bolt with
all those(3 out of 4)Fus 87 bolts in the way.OK now you really know you have
to do it.get a 3/8 wrench, ya the hole, thats what it is for, so you can get
your hand with wrench down there and take out 3 of the bolts. At an eighth
of a turn per pull, you know how long it takes to get the nut off, not one
but three. You will also need your small vise grips to hold the bolt. Ya
keep thinking, how in the h___ are you goint to get it back together.Take
your long needle nose pliers put the washer on, hold the nut with pliers in
the small hole while your hand goes in the really big hole so you can barely
get your fingers on the bolt to turn it just enough to get the thread
started.OK, now put the vise grips on the bolt and turn yhe nut on,not once
but three times.
You get the idea.

Please don't tell me there is an easier way to have done this. Of course,
put the bolt in before bolting in fus 87.

Couple hours later and it's done.

GOOD LUCK to ALL
