Shoulder belt modification

Post by Ralph Baker » Fri Feb 17, 2012 9:17 pm

Has anyone eliminated the standard shoulder belt and added a "Y" shoulder
belt for more crash protection? I got some advice from Darryl Murphy to
carry channels back 3 bulkheads to provide sufficient "tear out" strength
in the skin / bulkheads. I can get an idea of the material thickness and
number of rivets in shear to attach the belts from the standard
installation. If anyone has any ideas please contribute them as I have
invented enough duplicate wheels for a lifetime.
