There is a fire proof or retardant caulk made just for such applications.
You can find it in Wicks, Aircraft Spruce or most of the aircraft parts
catalogs. Or you can go to you're local heating & air-conditioning supply
house and pick up the commercial version, Same specs for 1/3rd the price.
