double photo of his plane and inst. panel to the Elite section in archives.

That's great news !!

I guess this is the first customer-completed Elite !! Any
chance we could get Scott to write a little note here about the
building, and how he feels about flying his new Elite ???

There are no Elites weighing under 1,100 lb. - it sounds
like everybody building an Elite should be extra careful about trying
to keep the weight down. Trimming corners, lightening holes where
allowed, etc. ...

Another Rebel Elite flies

Post by Wayne G. O'Shea » Fri Feb 17, 2012 8:47 pm

Bob, this proves what we have been saying all along. Even though the Elite
has 150 pound extra in Gross weight, it has less useful load in most cases!
What is there in the Elite that is adding this extra 150 pounds. Don't say
the aluminum ailerons/flaps and counterbalances as you know my rebel has
that and it came out at 966lbs, AFTER I had put the O-320-C2A in it. This
weight includes the paint job (as a lot don't because they fly first, paint
later and never reweigh to find that extra 45/50 pounds!). I also have 4
fully adjustable upholstered seats in the plane and a full panel.

I would like to see the picture of the Elite that Steve posted to the dcsol
site, but it only shows the top bit of the aircraft like one of the ones I
uploaded of Charle's rebel on Tundra tires. File shows it is all there by
size, but when you open it only opens a bit of the picture. IS it just my
computer with these stuck memory this way, or does everyone only get part of
these two pictures??

Wayne

The photos all open OK for me with netscape 4.74 although I must scroll
around to see it all. They are very large files compared to most that
you see on the net.

Hi Wayne !

I can see all of the photos, but have to scroll around to
view all of it. If you can't scroll, and really are only getting
part of the picture, try "reload" under the 'view' heading in
your browser.... I sometimes get this with WinDoze, after it's
been running for awhile - memory leaks change the programs !!

It would help if folks could reduce their images to about
35 - 50 k, as Mike has suggested ! All that extra resolution is
pretty much wasted on the 'net !!

Another Rebel Elite flies

Post by Wayne G. O'Shea » Fri Feb 17, 2012 8:48 pm

My son fixed me up! Partially uploaded pictures were stuck in memory and we
had to delete my temporary files to get the files to open fully, even though
my computer is set to "autorefresh" everytime I open any page. Maybe the
site doesn't support autorefresh, to cut down on band width??!

Wayne, I am seeing the entire picture when I look
at them... instead of clicking on the file name
to view it in your browser, try right clicking on
it and selecting save as... save it to a location
on your system (like your desktop), then try to
view it locally.

That option effects the client only... the server
will send the page everytime you ask for it...
glad you got it figured it out.
