[rebel-builders] heater questions

It'll never cook you out..so yah go for it! Go to the hardware store and get
a length of "jack chain". Same stuff that runs the tail wheel. Wrap it
around the pipe in the shroud area. Retain with safety wire or if your's has
the solid collars at each end where the cover clamps over.. drill a hole in
the collar and use a cotter pin to retain the chain, then wrap it at about
1" intervals and cotter at the other. Then safety wire it here and there to
keep it from moving/shafing. Adds immensely to surface area for the air flow
to pick up heat.

I have finally installed a heater in my rebel. Is a control really
needed or can I just wire it open in the fall and closed in the spring?
Also I remember reading in one of the tony bingelllis books that a
spring wrapped around the muffler increases the amount of heat. Has
anyone tried this? does it work?

Thanks Wayne I'll get some chain and put it on before I close the cowl up again. Then try to figure out my skis.

[rebel-builders] heater questions

Or if you have the money you could have custom ones built, as per link
example http://www.customaircraft.com/images/stud.jpg
I have two short ones installed (one each side) and they put out an
amazing amount of heat for their size. We need a diffuser in the cabin
to keep from cooking my legs.

Bob.
