Hello everyone. I'm new to this site and to this line of aircraft (about 1
week new). I've been asked to maintain a Moose for a customer of mine. I
have no experience with these aircraft but am a quick study. I'm an avionics
technician by trade, 15 years worth. I have a heavy background in sheetmetal
and have assisted customers in finishing a number of RV and Zenith projects
and then wired them up for them. So if anyone ever has electrical or
avionics questions, I still enjoy answering and helping out if I'm able. So
feel free.
I've been asked to install the aileron droop feature on a Moose that
the original builder felt was outside his comfort zone to install. I have an
electronic set of build manuals that I got from the current owner, but I'm
finding it hard to find information about the feature and the process of
installing it. I want to research it, talk with someone who has already
installed it on their aircraft and make sure I have all my ducks in a row
before beginning. Can anyone point me in the right direction for
information? I hope I did the address right and this gets out to everyone.
:) Thanks, Dave

[rebel-builders] aileron droop modification

Post by Dick Wampach » Sun Feb 19, 2012 11:34 pm

Welcome to the site Dave,

First question that I have is what is in the airplane now?
How much of the system did he install, what did he leave out?
Is the slider block installed at the bellcrank that the cables and push pull
rods attach too?
Do you have the "left over parts"

Look at files, Area 112, Dynon Roll Servo, dated 6-14-2011. This about the
only photo in the archives to show most of the mixer system.
I can send more if you need.
Just below are photos of my aileron servo installation showing the aileron
slider block (modified), dated 11-2007.

Dave feel free to contact me if you want more info.
