amphib wheels and bearings

Post by phil stubley » Fri Feb 17, 2012 8:39 pm

Hi all, and Wayne

I received my amphib wheels and brakes from MAM in Dec, (they were short
shipped and I just got them). Hurray, contrary to what MAM said they
were sending they included "CP" bearings.

Question for Wayne, I am sure that you mentioned what kind of grease you
recomnmended for these bearings, but I can't find it in my messages.
Could you repeat your recommendation please.

The first float has all the bulkeads rivetted in and the side skins on.
Now fitting the wheels etc. Can hardly wait to get my belly wet this
summer. :))

Phil Stubley.

Phil, there are probably better choices out there, but I have been using
C.T.C.'s synthetic Extreme pressure bearing grease (for boat trailers) with
great success, product #28-0804-4 (It is pink in colour). It has kept
Howard's wheels rolling nice for 3 years
now and always easy to obtain when needed for your DEDICATED grease gun!

Regards,
