[rebel-builders] Preventing Moose/SR stinger side-to-side movement

Post by Ted Waltman » Sun Feb 19, 2012 8:34 pm

Use washers to insure a tight fit. You won't wear the bolt hole in the
stinger; you will, however, and almost inevitably regardless of how firm you
washer up the stinger to the FUS-360 (right # ?) mount, end up with
elongated holes in the FUS-360 holes. So while you're at it, install
nutplates/anchor nuts on the back side of each FUS-360 (right/left parts) so
it's easier to replace them later.

Or, create your own custom front stinger mount (as some have done) or buy
Dale Fultz's custom front mount.

Subject: [rebel-builders] Preventing Moose/SR stinger side-to-side movement

Guys,

Quick question: I have a custom stinger purchased from another builder a few
years back. It's 1 inch in diameter, so there is a slight gap either side of
the stinger up in the tailcone where it mounts.

What have others done to take up this gap? I was thinking either delrin
spacers or some sort of rubber cushion. Thoughts and/or suggestions?

I can see if you don't prevent the side-to-side movement it will eventually
wear the bolt hole on the stinger.

Thanks, -Jason
