[rebel-builders] Super Rebel aileron torque tube (in roof) dimensions

Post by Ted Waltman » Sun Feb 19, 2012 8:06 pm

Jason,

There is a Chapter 12 dated 3/3/2006 that I'll email you. I can email
pictures of my assembly too if you would like me to.

Yes, the two push-pull tubes are indeed parallel to each other. That is
critical.

I'd have to measure the distance between the two FUS-65's on my plane, and I
won't be at the hangar for a few days. Maybe someone else can take that
measurement for you.

Ted

Subject: [rebel-builders] Super Rebel aileron torque tube (in roof)
dimensions

Greeting guys,

This is involved, so I will try to give details below.

I'll start with my question: Is the measurement between the CC-140 pivot
assemblies supposed to be the same as the measurement between the push-pull
tube holes on the flap horn (bellcrank)? See figure 25, Chapter 12 controls
of SR manual dated 29/11/02. The two push-pull tubes appear to be parallel
to each other in figure 25.

If I measure the distance between the holes that bolt the push-pull tubes
onto the flap horn (bellcrank) they are 6 inches apart, or 3 inches either
side of the fuselage centerline. Now, figures 22 ans 23 in the same chapter
show the center of the CC-140 pivot assembly as 1&9/16 inside of the flange
of the FUS-65 (see figure 21). THIS WOULD MAKE the distance between the two
push-pull tubes here as 4&7/8.

I am thinking that the dimension in Fig 22 & 23 should be 1 inch!?

Also, can someone please confirm that in figure 21 the two FUS-65s should be
8 inches apart, or 4 inches either side of the aircraft centerline.

Am I missing something here? Like a manual update!

Thanks in advance, -Jason
